Covid causing delivery delays

Online retailers have warned customers that they may face extended delays due to Australia Post’s temporary halt in picking up orders.
Other retailers, including Kmart, have also warned that their customers might experience long delays.
Australia Post has suspended collection from retailers in Victoria and the ACT to clear a record backlog of Christmas parcels.
Australia Post has around 500 people in self-isolation, which it says is placing increased pressure on its network. It also manages flight restrictions and parcel volumes during the Christmas season.
Delivery times for Kmart in Victoria and NSW are typically delayed by up to five days depending on the type of order and location.
It is believed that Australia Post will take at least four days to process orders once their temporary halt is over. These delays are expected to occur in the event that orders are placed on Saturday.
Due to the extended lockdowns in Australia, Kmart has temporarily removed all click and collect fees from online orders. The company noted that they would remove these fees as they look to restock their shelves.
Due to Australia Post’s announcement regarding home delivery delays, some customers may experience delays.

Retail Expected to Recover Strongly
